A Dominus VerticalWe tasted our way through a number of Dominus vintages (don't you feel sorry for us?) and have the results here. If you want an executive summary of the article, one word will do: Wow!! Read more... Quick FactWhat's the smallest appellation in France? Most people will say it's Romanée-Conti, the fabled (and miniscule) vineyard owned by the Domaine de la Romaneé-Conti. But although this grand cru vineyard is a tiny 1.8 hectares, it is almost twice the surface area of the smallest. The smallest appellation is Romanée-Conti's tiny neighbor La Romanée. Owned by the Chateau de Vosne-Romanée, this tiny parcel of wine is France's smallest appellation. Each year, around 4000 bottles of this wine is produced, and it is bottled by Bouchard Père et Fils. Although the wine is not the equal of Romanée-Conti or the finest Richebourg, it is nevertheless a great wine: elegant, stylish, beautifully perfumed, and very age-worthy. Don't believe anyone who tells you that this grand cru isn't up to par.
